Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the brown sugar, cane sugar, tofu, vanilla and vegan butter in the jar of a blender and blend on high speed until smooth and glossy.
In a medium mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, stir to blend well. Pour the sugar and butter mixture into the flour and mix well scraping the side of the bowl. Stir in the nuts and chocolate chips until they are evenly incorporated into the batter.
Lightly oil a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and press the dough evenly into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until firm to the touch and lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven, let cool and cut into bars or squares.
